Sustainability & Native Breeds

Our mission is to produce ethical, sustainable & naturally grown food, offering exceptional living standards for livestock with minimal stress and maximum comfort.

These core values have guided us to use local family run farms within Norfolk, opting to avoid neglectful and harmful commercial farming methods, which mistreat and degrade these beautiful animals.

We use farmers who take traditional farming methods to rear excellent produce with optimum welfare and quality of living. Slow grown livestock allows for proper structural development with exceptional meat texture, just as nature intended.

Short Supply Chains

Using local Farmers within Norfolk means our supply chains are minimal, meaning our Carbon Emissions are reduced as low as possible to help the increasingly damaged environment.

Short supply chains results in local, fresh, produce which hasn't been massed produced in unethical commercial factory farms. Also, local livestock will go to local abattoirs allowing for all animals to be traceable, unlike commercial meat, back to their origin for a reputable and transparent process.

Local, experienced, Farmers know how to care and nurture the land and offer local jobs, pumping capital back in to the local economy whilst constantly improving conditions for their animals.

Nose to Tail, Farm to Fork

Our deep rooted values respect that no part of the animal should be wasted, therefore we use 100% of the carcass for its different purposes. We salvage as much meat off the bone as we can and separate it into its individual cuts e.g. Chuck, Brisket, Ribeye etc and use the bones for broth or to be sold through the shop. The animals hide is preserved and used for sheepskins/cow hides and sold making beautiful rugs/floor covers.

Our short supply chains, as mentioned above make food systems fair, healthy and more environmentally friendly. this means significantly less food miles and produce that is local, traceable and ethically reared.

What Do Our Customers Think?

Hi John and Co just writing to let you know that the lamb shanks we purchased from you earlier this week were great. Having usually bought pre-cooked frozen ones from all the supermarkets I have to say there is no comparison. The amount of meat on each shank was twice as much as on the shop bought meals and to those who think the hassle is in cooking them - stick them in a slow cooker with whatever you want and just leave them. Yum yum.
